United Springfield Academy Tryouts June 8-10

Tryout registration for the 2025–2026 soccer season is now open.

United Springfield Academy (USA) offers and welcomes all levels of soccer from the recreational, youth, competitive, and high school level teams and players. USA is coming off a previous year that has been filled with proud moments—multiple league and tournament championships, our first Missouri State Cup, Presidents Cup title and our first wave of commitments across all collegiate levels, including NCAA Division 1. Most importantly, we’ve seen so much growth in our players, teams, and coaches.

2011 Girls Fall Heartland League Champions

2011 Girls Win Heartland League

The United Springfield Academy 2011 girls teams captured the fall league Heartland Division 3 title, finishing with a record of 7-1, and were promoted to Division 2 this spring. In the the winter, the team prevailed as champions in the 2025 Springfield Futsal Shootout Tournament.

The team has taken tremendous strides and growth since the beginning of August in achieving this feat, which is accredited to the players, parents, and coaching staff dedication, commitment and hard work. We are excited to see the continual growth of our 2011 girls team.

2025 Spring KC Cup Tournament Champions

2015 Boys & 2010 Boys Prevail as Champions

United Springfield Academy team's competed in the 2025 Kansas City Champions Cup Tournament on April 11-13, 2025. The 2015 boys and 2010 boys teams captured championships in their respective division while the 2012 boys teams finished as finalists.

These achievements are a testament to the players, parents, and coaches dedication and hard work throughout the entire season which began in back in the fall of August.

USA 2008 Girls Win Historic State Cup Title

Missouri State Cup Champions

The United Springfield Academy 2008 Girls team earned their place in Missouri Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) history by capturing the U17 Missouri State Cup Championship.

Guided by coaches Anthony Grant and Alex Stein, the team features 16 talented athletes, ages 14 to 17, from schools across the region, including Nixa, Logan-Rogersville, Glendale, Greenwood, Willard, and Central. This impressive group of players formed a powerhouse squad, dominating their competition throughout the tournament.

In a thrilling final match, the USA 2008 Girls team triumphed over Real WC from St. Louis to claim their first-ever State Cup title. This remarkable victory marks the second consecutive year they reached the State Cup final, breaking a long-standing drought for Springfield-area teams. No local girls' soccer team had lifted the trophy in over a decade.

This State Cup victory reflects the relentless dedication of the players, coaches, and parents. Their hard work in preparation, teamwork, and tactical execution was on full display at the highest level of state competition. From set-piece goals to heroic defensive stands, the path to the championship was filled with defining moments that showcased the team's resilience and hunger for success.

Winning the State Cup is more than just a title—it’s a statement. The United Springfield Academy 2008 Girls have set a new standard for girls’ soccer in the region, inspiring the next generation of athletes to dream big and aim higher.

This historic win further solidifies United Springfield Academy’s reputation as a leading soccer program in Southwest Missouri.

U.S. Soccer Referee Abuse Prevention Policy Effective March 2025

U.S. Soccer is committed to providing a safe, respectful environment for all. Effective March 2025, the updated U.S. Soccer Referee Abuse Prevention Policy 531-9 / Youth & Amateur Soccer will be enforced and United Springfield Academy is excited to being a positive representation for youth soccer in the southwest Missouri area for this policy.

At United Springfield Academy, coaches, players, and fans must understand and exemplify these changes to avoid suspensions or being banned from the game, working together to support our referees and preserve the integrity of the game.

U.S Soccer states, “Our updated Referee Abuse Prevention Policy (Policy 531-9) is designed to make youth and amateur matches more safer, more fun, and more empowering for everyone involved. Referee abuse will not be tolerated. We're asking everyone to do their part by knowing the rules, reporting referee abuse, and embodying behaviors that represent the best of us. U.S. Soccer is standing firm to protect referees and restore respect to the game. The updated policy includes stronger sanctions for any form of physical or non-physical abuse towards referees. We encourage every player and coach to learn what behaviors cross the line, so they can avoid penalties and help create a better culture for the future of soccer.”

LCS Futsal Champions

United Springfield Academy team's superb efforts this past first winter session have paid off. After multiple victories and exceptional performance, the following teams were officially crowned as the LCS Futsal League champions:

- USA Boys 2014, 2013 & 2010.

- USA Girls 2013 & 2011.

This achievement confirms their standing as the premier soccer team for the Futsal season.

ODP Night Hosted by USA

United Springfield Academy proudly hosted a successful Olympic Development Program (ODP) night this past fall season. The ODP program was created to develop young athletes in their soccer skills further, while also providing an opportunity to compete on a regional and national stage.

Jeff, Muhr, Director of ODP, brought a team of experienced coaches who worked closely with each player throughout their time with United Springfield Academy. They provided guidance in areas such as technical abilities, tactical awareness and fitness.

USA parents attended this event and received valuable information about various programs within ODP's training methodology that is used as either introductory or advanced-level competition for their players. This program aims to give young athletes both confidence and knowledge on how they can progress onto regional and national teams down the road.

The support staff at United Springfield Academy worked hard to make sure that this season was a success and they are already looking forward to hosting more events like this in the future so that they can continue helping students reach their highest potential in soccer.

Technical Sessions

United Springfield Academy is introducing two new technical soccer sessions each week for its players, to help them advance their foot skills, passing accuracy, receiving techniques, and more.

These bonus classes hosted by coach Ben Taylor and USA staff are a fantastic chance for individual growth in the sport of soccer - not as an alternative or substitution to team practice but simply another opportunity to give all USA players the chance to become even better at soccer.

The Technical sessions program will be offered in the fall and spring.
